Mobile suit gundam battle operation 2 melee11/24/2023 ![]() But KBM is still slightly better for several reasons that you cannot refute with anything other than "I prefer controller." The lower the skill ceiling of the game, the less it matters, and it barely matters for this game. You don't have to go out of your way to argue in bad faith for the viability of your preference. There's no shame in any of these statements, preferences are completely normal and in the case of this game every veteran shares your preference for controllers. This isn't even a matter of preference, mechanically the keyboard is better for sudden switches in movement, especially in opposite directions like for ADAD. Jiggle peaking is also EASIER on keyboard rather than harder, because you're tapping binary left right inputs rather than a "granular" analog stick which not only has to return to neutral position between each input direction but then further travel twice the distance the second direction. I jiggle peaked better than anyone I saw in the network test. Have you spilled soda or something sugary on your keyboard recently? Are the keys sticking or something? How can you possibly have issue with tapping ADAD. On controller it's much easier to step out slightly to fire, then dart back in. If you're holding a corner, pressing ADAD is finicky and can send you out too far, exposing your suit, so you have to spam it to get the perfect peek shot. Wish controller movement+mouse aim was possible, but the game confuses inputs when it's attempted. Mouse is obviously better for fine aiming/distance shots. On controller you can smoothly step out just enough to fire, then dart back in, with one single motion. ![]() Meanwhile, using KB might send you well out of range because pressing a direction is all or nothing. When selecting a direction to melee attack, you can tilt the stick slightly (so you don't move). ![]() It's simply much easier to be in the perfect position/angle with controller. For example, you're doing a melee combo, and hitting S or S+D will send you way out of range or off angle (camera can't turn enough to compensate), while on controller you have precise, granular inputs. You can't boost in the proper angles with keyboard, because a) turn rate is limited (so Gunz is incomparable), and b) keyboards can only go in 8 directions. And this is from someone who used to play CS professionally. Sounds nice, but there are many practical reasons why that might not be true here. No shame in having a preference, but advocating your preference as being better(without a single actual reason to back it up) is just plain silly. ![]() Think a lot of people need to admit to themselves that they're not good at using a keyboard and just prefer controllers. Controllers on the other hand have no objective advantage. ![]() The mechanical skill ceiling in this game is pretty low, so KBM and controller will be about equal, with KBM having a slight advantage in aiming precision and the advantage of being able to directly switch to whatever weapon you want without having to bring up the menu for it. If you think doing boost cancelling, combos, or "backslash" attacks are difficult on keyboard then look up videos of people playing fighting games or Gunz on keyboard, your mind will be blown. If you prefer controller(as nearly every vet would due to them using it for so long) then use controller, but if you have no preference then KBM is far better for nearly every game on the planet including this one. Not sure if the people advocating for controller are trolling or have cerebral palsy. ![]()
